Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
Superhuman Mail is for people and teams whose working day runs through email and who will pay to move faster through it: Split Inbox, shortcuts, read statuses and AI drafts in their own voice. The headline AI drafting, Auto Drafts with voice and tone match, is a Business-plan feature at $33 USD per member a month billed annually, and no free plan appears on the Mail pricing page. Price is a recurring objection in viewer comments on review videos.
Superhuman Mail replaces the Gmail or Outlook interface with its own app: you connect your Gmail or Outlook account and work from the apps the help centre names: a Mac app, a Chrome extension, and iPhone, iPad and Android apps. You move through mail with keyboard shortcuts, the inbox is split into streams you define, and AI features sit inside the flow: an instant reply, a one-line summary above each conversation, or a full draft written from a few words.
Which of those you get depends on the plan. Starter covers the productivity features plus Write with AI, Instant Reply and the automatic labels and summaries. Business, at $33 USD per member a month billed annually, adds Auto Drafts, Ask AI, voice and tone match, a knowledge base, the Mail MCP and CRM integrations. The help centre prices the same plans at $30 and $40 a month on monthly billing, and says the annual price is a 17% discount.
If you would rather keep Gmail or Outlook, Email Assistant by Superhuman Mail brings the core AI into your existing inbox without a new app or extension, for $12 a month billed annually. It sorts mail into a fixed set of six labels, archives notifications, news and promotions, and leaves draft replies waiting in the thread; nothing is sent without you. Its labels cannot be renamed or replaced individually.

Price is a recurring objection: several commenters say the subscription is hard to justify for an email client, even when they like the product. Opinion on the core experience is split. Fans single out the speed and keyboard shortcuts, while sceptics say Gmail or Outlook can get close with shortcuts, labels and filters.
What you can actually do with this tool.
Superhuman AI matches the voice and tone of the email you have already sent and applies it to what it writes, so a few jotted phrases become a finished reply. On mobile, Write with Voice turns spoken thoughts into an email. Voice and tone match is listed for Business and Enterprise; Starter has Write with AI and Instant Reply.
Auto Drafts prepares a reply for the emails that need one, so you open a thread to edit rather than to start. This is the main reason to choose Business over Starter for an email-writing job.
Split Inbox separates what needs attention from the rest, Auto Labels and Auto Archive clear the noise, Snippets automate the text you type repeatedly, and reminders bring threads back when someone has not replied.
On Business and Enterprise, Ask AI answers questions across your inbox, calendar and the web, and the Mail MCP lets you reach your Gmail and Outlook accounts from AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.
You can share a live view of an email with colleagues and comment on it, and Business adds HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive context beside the conversation.
Tools and platforms this connects with.
Pricing tiers and what's included in each.
Common questions about this tool, answered.
No free tier is listed on the Mail pricing page or in the help centre's plan article, which list Starter, Business and Enterprise. The Mail AI page shows a "Claim free month" button that links to sign-up with a promo code; treat it as an offer, not a standing trial, and check the terms when you sign up.
Superhuman Mail and Grammarly are separate products in the same Superhuman suite, along with Docs and Go. The Mail plan cards show the suite's product names but do not state what access to the other products a Mail plan includes.
Starter has Write with AI and Instant Reply. Auto Drafts, voice and tone match and Ask AI are on Business and Enterprise; the separate Email Assistant also drafts replies in your voice, inside Gmail or Outlook.
Superhuman says its AI providers are contractually barred from training on your data and that your email is never used to train external models. Its privacy policy says it trains its own AI models on information it collects, with training controls in your account settings that decide whether your content is used.
Superhuman's own pages disagree: the pricing page lists up to 25 seats on Starter and Business, while the help centre says up to 14 people on the annual plan under one subscription. Enterprise is listed as unlimited. Ask Superhuman before buying for a larger team.
