Creators, coaches and social teams who publish captioned vertical video every week can hand Submagic the captioning and rough cut, then review the result. The plan decision turns on video length and publishing: Starter caps each video at 2 minutes and cannot publish to social accounts, Pro raises the cap to 5 minutes, and Business takes 30-minute files and exports at up to 4K and 60 FPS. Credits are metered per member, and Magic Clips runs draw on the same allowance.
Work happens in the browser at app.submagic.co: upload a video or paste a YouTube link, let Submagic caption and edit it, adjust the result, then export it or schedule it to social accounts. A watched Google Drive folder can return edited videos automatically, and developers can drive the same editing through the REST API, which is rate-limited per endpoint type (for example 500 project creations or uploads an hour), or through the MCP server. Submagic also generates AI-avatar videos, which it calls AI Actors.
Every self-serve plan is priced per member and sold monthly or yearly; in the US-dollar variant, yearly billing is advertised as saving up to 41%. Submagic's pricing pages also carry euro and Brazilian-real tabs, and its in-app pricing page can show rupee prices with a smaller advertised yearly saving, without any statement of which buyers are charged in which currency. The free trial needs no credit card and is offered at Submagic's discretion. Plans renew until cancelled, and the terms rule out refunds for a period that has already started.
You keep the rights to what you upload, but the terms give Submagic (Turbo Studio SAS, Paris) a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, modify, reproduce and distribute it on and through the platform, with an email opt-out from promotional use; they also warn that AI-generated results may not be unique to you. The privacy notice places Submagic's servers in the United States, with EU and US service providers and Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EEA.

What you can actually do with this tool.
Speech is transcribed into styled, animated captions in many languages, and captions can be translated into other languages.
Silences and bad takes are cut, and B-roll, zooms, music and sound effects are added, before you adjust the edit yourself.
A long video, uploaded or pasted as a YouTube link, is cut into several short clips. Each run draws on the plan's monthly credits.
From Pro, finished videos can be scheduled or published to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook and LinkedIn: one profile per platform on Pro, three on Business. Starter has no publishing.
A REST API, metered in API minutes per plan, and an MCP server for MCP-capable AI assistants and coding tools run the same editing from code or an agent; Zapier, Make, n8n, Gumloop and a watched Google Drive folder automate it without code.

Common questions about this tool, answered.
There is a free trial that needs no credit card; no standing free plan is listed. The pricing page, sign-up page and terms do not say how long the trial lasts or what it includes, and the terms let Submagic change it without notice.
Each member gets a monthly allowance: 45 credits on Starter, 120 on Pro and 300 on Business, which the pricing page equates to about 15, 40 and 100 videos. The same credits can instead pay for Magic Clips runs, at 5, 15 or 37 a month.
No plan adds a watermark. Export quality depends on the plan: 1080p at 30 FPS on Starter and up to 4K at 60 FPS on Business.
Plans renew automatically and can be cancelled at any time, with the cancellation taking effect at the end of the current period; the terms say no refund is due for a period that has already started.
