Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
SheetAI is for a marketer, operator or analyst who already lives in Google Sheets and wants to classify, extract or generate text down a column in bulk. The pricing choice is really a key choice: the free tier is free from SheetAI but bills every call to your own AI provider, and on a shared sheet every editor's usage lands on the owner's key. Hosted plans remove the key but cap runs, and Pro's cap is described only as 'soft unlimited'.
Installation is from the Google Workspace Marketplace; SheetAI then lives under Extensions → SheetAI App and in the cell functions. You either add an API key for the free tier or subscribe to a hosted plan, write a prompt in a cell that references the data, and fill the formula down to generate, classify, extract or summarise at scale. Licences are per Google Account, with team or domain licences arranged by email.
The cost model differs by tier. Starter includes up to about 500 AI runs a month; Pro's usage is described only as 'Higher AI usage (soft unlimited)', with no figure on the pricing page. One-time credit packs are sold without a subscription, from $29 for up to 97 million tokens to $299 for up to a billion.
First-time purchases carry a 30-day money-back guarantee; renewals after the first 30 days and API usage fees are excluded, and subscriptions are managed through a Stripe billing portal. SheetAI says it sends the sheet data you choose to process to the AI model providers and does not permanently store it.

What you can actually do with this tool.
=SHEETAI and BRAIN, TAG, LIST, TABLE, IMAGE, FILL, EXTRACT, CLASSIFY, SUMMARIZE, API and PJSON take a prompt and a cell reference and fill down a column like any formula, which is what makes bulk classification or extraction practical in a spreadsheet.
On the free tier you bring your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok or DeepSeek key, stored in your Google account and never sent to SheetAI's servers, and pay that provider per call. Starter and Pro run on SheetAI's hosted AI with no key at all.
Image, video and music models on Replicate can be run across many rows from the same sheet, for catalogue imagery or variations at volume.
A sidebar writes ordinary spreadsheet formulas from a description, useful when the task is a lookup or a pivot rather than an AI call.

Common questions about this tool, answered.
SheetAI charges nothing for it, and calls are unlimited on SheetAI's side. Every call is billed by the AI provider whose key you add, and on a shared sheet the usage of every editor is charged to the spreadsheet owner's key. Whether that is free in practice depends on your provider's own pricing and any free credits it gives you.
Not through a trial, since the pricing page offers none. SheetAI's refund policy mentions a 'trial period' without defining one; what it does state is a 30-day money-back guarantee on first-time purchases, excluding renewals and API usage fees.
In your Google account, according to SheetAI's setup documentation, which says the key is never sent to SheetAI's servers.
