Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
Designers, illustrators and marketers who need editable vector output as well as images can generate and refine both in one canvas. The deciding point is rights: Free-plan images are public, owned by Recraft and not for commercial use, while paid plans give full ownership that lasts after cancelling. Budget in credits, since every generation and edit spends them and plan credits do not roll over.
Sign in on the web or in the mobile app, prompt an image or a vector in a chosen model, refine it, then export. Every generation and edit costs credits, and the cost depends on the action and the model. Plan credits reset each billing cycle (daily on Free) and do not roll over; paid plans can add top-up credits (200 for $2, 400 for $4, 800 for $8, 1,600 for $16) that never expire and are used once plan credits run out. In AI Chat mode each message costs credits, and the cost grows as a conversation gets longer.
Billing is monthly or annual, in US dollars excluding VAT, and plans renew automatically. The pricing page labels annual billing 'save 20%' and the documentation says annual billing gives up to 20% off. After cancelling, the plan stays usable until the current billing period ends. Refunds are at Recraft's discretion within 30 days of the latest payment: the pricing page allows a request if no credits were used since that payment or fewer than 30 credits were used in total, while the billing documentation states only the fewer-than-30-credits condition. On Teams, Recraft's own pages disagree on how many images one prompt can return: the pricing page lists up to 20 images per generation from Basic up and says each higher plan includes everything below it, while the Teams documentation gives a maximum of 4 images per prompt.
Free-plan images belong to Recraft, appear in the public community gallery and may not be used commercially. Paid-plan images are private and stay fully owned by the user, commercial rights included, after a subscription ends. On every plan, generated assets may not be used to train AI models. The Teams documentation says imported images are not used to train AI models, and the terms allow Recraft to train on public community gallery content. The developer API is billed separately in prepaid API units (1,000 units for US$1.00) that do not expire; unit packages are non-cancellable and non-refundable.

Six accounts, five of them on four YouTube videos from 2024 to 2026 and one on Recraft's 2023 Product Hunt launch thread, single out vector output as what they use Recraft for or like about it. One especially likes the SVG export; one uses Recraft mainly to make SVG files for a laser; one tried a Recraft model through a third-party API service to generate SVG; the others praise how it creates vector images and its vectorised export. A workflow-fit signal from a small group of users, not a quality ranking.
What you can actually do with this tool.
Generate and edit raster images and vector graphics; the API exposes the same image and vector generation along with background removal, inpainting and outpainting.
Free uses Recraft's own models only. Basic adds image models the vendor names as Nano Banana, Seedream, GPT Image and Flux, among others, and the pricing page lists video generation, with models such as Kling, Veo and Seedance, from Pro.
The iOS/iPadOS (17.6 or later) and Android (8.0 or later) apps share the same account, plan, credits and projects as the web; the full canvas editor, frames and mockups are on the web.
Recraft documents plugins for Figma and Framer, a Chrome extension, and add-ons for Google Docs and Google Slides, all drawing on your Recraft credits; vector output still needs Recraft itself when you work from the Google add-ons.

Common questions about this tool, answered.
Yes. The Free plan gives limited credits that reset daily and uses Recraft's own models only; its images are public and cannot be used commercially. The pricing page and plans documentation list no free trial of the paid plans.
On a paid plan you do: images are private, with full ownership and commercial rights that continue after the subscription ends. On the Free plan Recraft owns them. Whatever the plan, Recraft's licence forbids using generated assets to train AI models.
Possibly, at Recraft's discretion, within 30 days of your latest payment. The pricing page adds that you qualify if you used no credits since that payment or fewer than 30 credits in total; the billing documentation mentions only the fewer-than-30-credits condition.
No. API use is billed in prepaid API units bought separately from subscription credits, at 1,000 units for US$1.00; units do not expire and packages are non-refundable.
