Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
QuestionWell is for the teacher who writes quizzes and readings every week and wants them generated to a standard and sent straight into the quiz tool the class already uses. The free plan is a genuine trial of the workflow, but its monthly caps (two material imports and five question exports, among others) run out fast in regular use, and the Premium price is published only in its yearly form.
A teacher signs in with a Google or Microsoft account, gives QuestionWell a topic, a pasted text, a file, a link or a YouTube video, chooses the standards and question types, and generates. The AI coach edits the result, and the set is exported to the classroom tool in use or assigned through the live dashboard. Students never use the tool themselves.
The free plan is capped monthly rather than by feature, so what runs out is the count of imports, exports and edits rather than access to a tool. Premium lifts exports to what the vendor calls 'Unlimited' across 15+ platforms, and School/District adds LTI 1.3 gradebook integration, a roster dashboard, professional development and quarterly reports.

What you can actually do with this tool.
Enter a topic, text, file, link or YouTube video, choose standards and question types, and QuestionWell generates the set with Bloom's, DOK and reading-level lenses applied, so a quiz can be pitched at the level you intend.
Readings, vocabulary worksheets and interactive video quizzes come from the same inputs, which matters when one text has to become several kinds of material for one lesson.
Question sets export to Kahoot, Quizizz and Canvas among the destinations the pricing page names; the home page counts 22+ tools and formats, gradebook sync via LTI and Clever, and an MCP connector.
QuestionWell is teacher-only: it states that it collects no student data and that entering student data is against its terms, requires Google or Microsoft sign-in, is certified by 1EdTech, signs data privacy agreements with schools and districts on request, and does not share or sell data.

QuestionWell's pricing table gives two answers in different rows: one row says five reading exports a month, another says three reading and three vocabulary worksheets a month (with the vocabulary count likewise printed as five in one place and three in another). Both are the vendor's figures, and the table itself does not reconcile them. If worksheets are why you want the free plan, check the current table or ask QuestionWell.
Yes. The 'Pay for me' option lets a school pay once for a non-renewing one-year Premium subscription, which the FAQ describes as the way to buy an annual subscription that does not renew.
It uses what teachers enter to improve question quality, in its own words, and says it does not share or sell data. Student data is a different matter: it collects none, and entering any is against its terms.
