Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
Quadratic suits analysts who have outgrown formulas but still want to work in a grid: SQL against a live database and Python in the next cell, with the AI writing much of it. Whether the free plan is enough turns on export and AI usage: Personal cannot export files to Excel, CSV or .grid, and its AI allowance is a monthly message limit whose size Quadratic does not publish.
Work starts by importing a CSV, Excel or PDF file or connecting a database, then asking the assistant to analyse the data or to write the Python or SQL that does. Results land in cells, charts are built from them, and the sheet is shared with a team like any spreadsheet.
Pricing has two published readings. The pricing page, in its default yearly view, prints Pro at $18 and Business at $36 per user per month billed annually; the Plans & billing documentation prints $20 and $40 per user per month without naming a billing interval. Each figure belongs to its own surface, and the pricing page's monthly-billing price is not printed there.
On privacy, Quadratic's documentation states that its AI model providers each hold a zero-day data retention policy with Quadratic, that a team can disable prompt storage in its settings, and that Quadratic is SOC 2 and HIPAA certified, which its Trust Center lists under Compliance.

What you can actually do with this tool.
A cell can hold Python, SQL or JavaScript as easily as a formula, so a database query, a transformation and a chart can sit side by side in one sheet instead of moving between a notebook and a workbook.
The AI writes and edits the code in those cells, analyses data and extracts tables from PDFs. On paid plans its use is metered as dollar credits per user each month; chat, code assistance, PDF imports and web searches count, while background autocomplete does not.
PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Supabase, BigQuery, Snowflake, CockroachDB, MariaDB, Neon, Google Analytics and Mixpanel connect directly, and CSV, Excel and PDF files import. Sharing and connections are limited on Personal and unlimited on Pro and Business.
An MCP server connects sheets to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients, and the site lists a developer API, so a sheet can be read and updated from outside the browser.

Common questions about this tool, answered.
No. Quadratic says there is no free trial and points people who want to try it to the free Personal plan, which has limited AI usage and sharing but editable files and connections.
Both are Quadratic's own figures on different pages: $18 per user per month billed annually is what the pricing page shows in its yearly view, and $20 per user per month is what the Plans & billing documentation prints without stating an interval. The same pair exists for Business at $36 and $40. Check the pricing page in your intended billing view before budgeting.
User-initiated AI: chat, the code assistant, PDF imports and web searches. Background AI such as autocomplete does not. Pro includes $20 and Business $40 of AI credits per user per month; Business can buy more on demand, Pro has no published overage.
