Two things here are settled and the plan ladder is not. Settled: commercial use is gated to Pika's upper paid tiers — both of Pika's own surfaces agree — so anyone publishing commercially is buying above the entry level. Also settled: credits are sold outright at $10 for 375, $20 for 750 and $30 for 1,125, a way to buy a fixed amount of work without subscribing. Not settled, and therefore not stated here: the tier names, the monthly prices, the credit allowances, what the free tier includes and whether output carries a watermark. Pika's pricing page and FAQ contradict each other on every one.
Pika makes short AI video. Its distinguishing move is that generation is broken into named modes — Pikaframes, Pikascenes — so the work is directed in pieces rather than asked for in one sentence. A clip can start from text or from an image.
Cost is metered in credits, and the meter is sensitive to what you ask for: generation type, clip length and resolution each move the price of a single generation. In practice that makes iteration cheap and finishing expensive, which is the right way round, but it also means a credit allowance cannot be converted into a number of clips without knowing what those clips are.
Credits are also sold outright, in one-time packs: $10 buys 375, $20 buys 750 and $30 buys 1,125. For occasional work that is a cleaner purchase than a subscription, and it is the part of Pika's commercial picture that both of its surfaces describe the same way.
The other thing both surfaces agree on is that commercial use is gated to the upper paid tiers. If you intend to sell or publish what comes out, the entry tier is not where you land, and that is worth establishing before any other comparison.
Everything else about the plans is unsettled between Pika's own pages, so this page publishes none of it. The pricing page names its tiers Free, Starter, Creator and Fancy; the FAQ names them Basic, Standard, Pro and Fancy. The pricing page describes the free tier as carrying no monthly credits; the FAQ says the free plan carries 150 a month. The two give different credit allowances for every paid tier — including for Fancy, the one tier they both name, where the figures are 8,550 and 6,000. And the pricing table marks every plan 'No watermark' while the FAQ says watermark-free download requires an upper tier. No tier name, price, allowance or watermark position is asserted here, and this page does not say which of the two surfaces to believe.

What you can actually do with this tool.
Pikaframes and Pikascenes give the generation structure — frames and scenes you direct — instead of a single field and a hope. For short narrative clips that is the difference between steering and sampling.
A clip can begin from a written prompt or from an image you already have. Starting from an image is the practical route when the look is already decided and only the motion is not.
Generation type, clip length and resolution all change what a generation costs. The same allowance therefore goes much further on short, lower-resolution iterations than on finished output, which makes it worth iterating cheap and finishing expensive.
One-time packs at $10 for 375 credits, $20 for 750 and $30 for 1,125. A fixed budget for a fixed piece of work, with nothing recurring behind it.
Both of Pika's surfaces place commercial rights on the upper paid tiers. Whatever the tiers are called on the day you look, the entry level is not where that right lives.
Common questions about this tool, answered.
It depends which of Pika's pages you read, and both are current. The pricing page describes the free plan as carrying no monthly credits; the FAQ says the free plan gives 150 credits a month. Neither is treated as settled here and no free-tier figure is published.
Only on the upper paid tiers — both of Pika's surfaces agree on that much. They use different names for those tiers, so which named tier carries the right is not settled here.
This page does not say, because Pika's own pages contradict each other on it: the pricing table marks every plan 'No watermark' while the FAQ states that watermark-free download requires an upper-tier plan.
