Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
People who want many realistic photos of themselves in different settings and outfits, without a photographer, are the core audience; Max and Ultra add video, editing and clothing try-on. Plan choice turns on licence and speed: Starter is for personal use and takes one photo at a time, while commercial use starts at Pro. The pricing page lists no free plan or trial of the generator, and Photo AI's help centre and terms disagree on refunds for barely-used subscriptions.
After subscribing, upload selfies to create an AI model, then run preset photo packs, write prompts or copy a reference photo's composition; on higher plans, edit, upscale, relight or animate the results. Each plan's credits renew monthly, including on yearly billing, and are spent per generation. Starter takes one photo at a time; Pro, Max and Ultra run up to 4, 8 and 16 photos in parallel.
Plans are sold monthly or yearly and renew automatically for the same period; for Pro, the yearly saving is stated two ways: the Pro card calls it '~5 months free', while Photo AI's help centre says the yearly plan is over 50% cheaper, '6+ months free'. Plans can be changed at any time from the Stripe billing portal, with upgrades applying instantly and downgrades at the next billing cycle, and cancelled at any time. Payment is by card and a range of local payment methods; the help centre says PayPal and cryptocurrency are not accepted. Subscription credits expire every month, while extra credits can be bought at any time, expire after 2 years and cost less per credit in larger amounts. Photo AI's help centre says a subscriber who has not created a model, has generated fewer than 20 photos and did not sign up through a referral link can self-refund from the account menu; the terms say no refunds are offered because GPU costs are incurred immediately. Confirm with Photo AI before relying on a refund.
Users own the assets they create, subject to the service's limitations, and commercial use requires Pro, Max or Ultra. Photos and models can be deleted in the app, with deleted photos purged after 30 days, and account data is deleted 90 days after a subscription is cancelled; the terms apply GDPR- and CCPA-style privacy rights to every user regardless of location. Photo AI is used on the website from a laptop or phone: its iOS app has been discontinued, and the vendor says any app called Photo AI in the stores is not theirs.

What you can actually do with this tool.
Upload selfies to train a model of yourself, or of another person with that person's express written consent; users must be over 18.
Generate from preset photo-shoot templates, write your own prompts (from Pro), or copy the composition of another photo, using the vendor's Hyper Realism model for photos.
From Max, short videos of the trained person can be generated, including talking to the camera.
Max adds photo editing, cropping, zoom-out, relighting, combining photos, the upscaler and clothing try-on for e-commerce.
The help centre lists costs such as 2 credits for a photo with Photo AI's own Hyper Realism model, 25 for a 3D model and 100 for a video with sound.
Separately from the paid generator, Photo AI offers free tools such as a background remover, upscaler, format converter, object remover and face swap that need no account or email.
Pricing tiers and what's included in each.
Common questions about this tool, answered.
No. The AI photo and video generator is sold only on paid plans, which is how both the pricing page and the help centre present it. Separately, Photo AI offers free single-purpose image tools, such as a background remover, upscaler and format converter, that need no account or email.
Yes. The vendor says Photo AI was formerly known as Avatar AI, and the old avatarai.me domain redirects to photoai.com.
Only on Pro, Max or Ultra; Starter is for personal use only. The terms assign ownership of created assets to the user, subject to the service's limitations.
Photo AI's pages disagree. The help centre describes a self-refund from the account menu for subscribers who have not created a model, have generated fewer than 20 photos and did not use a referral link; the terms of service say no refunds are offered. Confirm with Photo AI before subscribing if this matters.
