Fast-read signals for fit, pricing, and trust.
Best for SDRs and account executives sending one-to-one outbound from Gmail or Outlook 365 who want a score and concrete fixes before they hit send, rather than an agent writing for them. The free Basic plan allows 5 analyses and 5 personalisations a month, and a 7-day trial with no card includes all integrations, so you can test it on real emails first. Before a team buys, Lavender itself leaves two questions open: its pricing cards do not make clear which paid plans include its CRM and sequencer integrations, and its two privacy pages give different answers on how long your emails are kept.
You install the Email Coach from the Chrome Web Store, where the listing is published by Sorter, Inc. and was last updated in September 2026, and sign in with Google or Microsoft. In Gmail it then sits beside the compose window. Outlook on a Windows PC is a manual custom add-in with Microsoft 365 requirements that Lavender spells out, covered in the Outlook question below, and Lavender warns that security-conscious organisations may need an IT review before the coach can authenticate with the mail provider, so budget for that conversation if you are rolling it out to a team.
Once running, the coach scores what you write and fixes the weak spots, the Personalization Assistant feeds in prospect data, and Start My Email gets a draft going from bullets. Optionally you can connect your Google account from the dashboard's Integrations tab for historical inbox analysis, which Lavender says can take up to 24 hours. On Starter and above, Lavender Anywhere extends the coach to LinkedIn, Google Docs and newsletter tools. Team Plan customers add the Coaching Dashboard: per-rep performance, an Insights tab and custom scoring models built from Salesloft, Outreach or the team's own inboxes.
Paying starts with the 7-day trial, which needs no credit card and includes all integrations; when it ends you drop to the free Basic plan unless you pre-enrolled in a paid plan, in which case billing starts automatically. The three paid plans are priced per month and cheaper on the Yearly toggle, which is the default view. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the annual or monthly cycle and must be made at least 48 hours before renewal; there are no pro-rated refunds. Two soft spots remain, both set out in the FAQ: which paid plan unlocks the sequencer and CRM integrations, which the pricing cards leave ambiguous, and how long Lavender keeps your emails, on which its two privacy pages disagree. On the settled points, Lavender states by default it accesses only the email you are working on, that data from Google APIs is not used to train generalised AI models, that it is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and GDPR compliant, hosted on AWS in the United States, and that you can delete your data yourself from the dashboard.
Quick fit check against how you actually work.
What you can actually do with this tool.
The coach reads the email or template you are writing, scores it, and lists what is hurting your reply chances with a fix for each. Lavender's own guidance is to send at 90 or above.
The Personalization Assistant brings the recipient's data and personality-based cues into the inbox and suggests ways to personalise the opening, so you are not switching tabs to LinkedIn and the CRM.
Start My Email turns a few bullets into a first draft that you then personalise, and the Mobile Editor reshapes the copy so it reads well on a phone screen. Both are editor features, not a mobile app.
Gmail and Outlook 365 on every plan, plus Lavender Anywhere on Starter and above for LinkedIn, Google Docs and newsletter tools. Lavender names Outreach, Salesloft, HubSpot, Apollo, Groove and Gong as integrations; Salesloft connects from the dashboard's Integrations tab.
On the Team Plan, managers see each rep's email performance, who needs help and where, and can build custom scoring models from Salesloft, Outreach or the team's inboxes.

Common questions about this tool, answered.
There is a free Basic plan, "Free Forever" at $0, which Lavender's pricing card limits to analysing 5 emails and personalising 5 emails a month, with Gmail and Outlook 365, the AI Email Writer and AI recommendations included. Separately, new users get a 7-day free trial with no credit card and all integrations unlocked; afterwards the account drops to the limited free plan unless you pre-enrolled in a paid plan. Students, job seekers and bootstrapped founders can request free access through a form, with founders getting 90 days.
As served with the Yearly toggle, Starter is $27 a month, Individual Pro $45 a month and the Team Plan $89 per seat a month, each billed annually; the Monthly toggle shows $29, $49 and $99 per seat. The Team Plan is sold through a demo and its Starter, Growth and Enterprise tiers have no published price. Lavender prints a bare dollar sign and no currency code, accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, and issues refunds at its discretion.
Lavender's pricing page is not explicit. "Integrations" is a bullet on every card, Basic included, but only Individual Pro and Team Plan carry the subtitle "Includes integrations", and the page says all integrations are available during the trial. Lavender names Gmail, Outlook, Outreach, Salesloft, HubSpot, Apollo, Groove and Gong. Ask Lavender which plan unlocks the one you need before choosing.
Lavender states that by default it only has access to the email you are currently working on and cannot read your inbox, that historic-inbox access is opt-in, and that Google API data is not used to train generalised AI models. On storage its two official pages differ: the Privacy & Security page says emails are deleted immediately after analysis and that historic emails shared for benchmarking are never saved, while the Privacy Policy says up to two years of uploaded email correspondence is retained for historical analysis and insights. Treat the Privacy Policy as the document to read, and ask Lavender which statement is binding.
Outlook 365 is listed on every plan. On a Windows PC the coach is a manual custom add-in: Lavender says you need Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft 365 Business Standard or higher, that Business Basic does not support add-ins for Outlook Desktop, and that admin rights may be required. On a Mac the same custom add-in is installed in the new Outlook; Lavender's Mac article lists Mac OS Ventura and repeats the Business Standard requirement, and says its add-in file works for New Outlook only. Lavender also notes that installs vary by version, account type and permissions, so an IT review may be needed.
