What is this tool?

If your team already turns out long-form content every week and needs far more social posts from it, Lately is built for that job. Budgeting is harder: the two self-serve tiers sit far apart in price, and the pricing page names its plans two different ways and prints the Growth card's seat count as both five and three. Get what Growth includes confirmed by Lately before committing.

Once your content sources and social accounts are connected, Lately's voice model studies how your earlier posts performed. From then on, each long-form piece you feed it comes back as a set of candidate posts, which you edit and schedule directly or send on to Hootsuite or HubSpot. Lately lists LinkedIn personal and company pages, X, Facebook and Instagram company pages, and YouTube as places it publishes.

The pricing page is less clear than the product. Its plan cards and comparison table show Starter, Growth and Enterprise, while the FAQ further down the same page describes plans called Startly, Litely, Professionally and Enterprisely. The mismatch has one practical casualty: the FAQ says YouTube publishing is available only on Enterprisely, a name the plan cards do not use, so the page does not tell you which current plan includes it.

Is this right for you?

Quick fit check against how you actually work.

Choose this if
  • Social output is your bottleneck, and the material for it already exists in recordings and articles
  • Your posts already go out through Hootsuite or HubSpot and you want generated drafts to arrive there
  • You want output tuned to how your own past posts performed rather than written fresh from a prompt each time
Consider alternatives if
  • You need YouTube publishing on a self-serve plan: the only plan-specific statement ties it to a plan name missing from the current plan cards
  • Seats decide your budget and you are looking at Growth, whose card is printed with both five and three seats
  • You produce little long-form content, since what Lately writes depends on what you feed it

Key features

What you can actually do with this tool.

Long-form in, a batch of posts out

Video, audio, blog posts and RSS feeds are the raw material. The value scales with how much long-form content you already make; a team that publishes little will get little out of it.

A voice model instead of a blank prompt

Output comes from a model trained on your own social history, so it is meant to converge on what has worked for your audience rather than on a generic house style.

Publishing through tools you may already use

Lately integrates with Hootsuite, Hootsuite Amplify and HubSpot Marketing Hub, and with UpContent, Grammarly and Bitly. Destinations it does not support are covered by exporting the generated posts as a CSV.

Frequently asked

Common questions about this tool, answered.

Is there a free plan or a free trial?

The entry tier's button reads "Try now for free", but neither the pricing page nor Lately's help centre says whether that is a standing free plan or a time-limited trial, or whether a card is needed. Confirm both with Lately before relying on it.

Does annual billing really save 20%?

That is the figure the pricing page prints. Worked from its own prices, annual billing saves about 26% on the entry tier ($14 against $19) and about 17% on Growth ($199 against $239).
